From Vanessa Oliver, Race Director:
I know it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature, but I would have used every trick I had to get this race going on Saturday. Unfortunately, and especially with the snow forecast for tonight, the conditions on the Legacy Trail and out at Coldstream Park are simply unsafe for our runners/walkers. We have decided to postpone the race until Sunday, February 23rd at 2pm. All other aspects of the race will remain the same: course, race-day packet pickup, race-day registration, and post-race awards at Embassy.
Our next 3 Way Racing race offering is the RailRunner 10 Miler & 5K on Saturday, March 15, 2014 (9am, RJ Corman in Nicholasville). This race is staged on the picturesque and completely private grounds of RJ Corman RailRoad Group. We’ll run their beautiful paved 5K course and 10 Miler competitors will experience the “Run The Runway” of 1 mile long Lucas Field.
Race features technical T-shirts for all registrants, chip timing, overall and age group awards (authentic hand painted rail spikes), DJ/live music, Zaxby’s chicken strips and sauce, Gatorade and SWORD Nutrition, other postrace food including My Old Kentucky Dinner Train homemade churn ice cream. Don’t miss out on this great race value.
Online registration will be open until midnight on Thursday, March 13th with packet pickup at West Sixth Brewing (501 West Sixth Street, Lexington) on Friday, March 14th from 3-7pm. We’ll also have packet pickup and on-site registration on race morning from 7:30-9am at RJ Corman. Online registration at www.3wayracing.com .
This is a supreme race value! Don’t miss out as we celebrate the coming of spring in the Bluegrass.
The race is ON!
This may not be a PR day for any of you as we are encouraging safe running. We also encourage you to wear a running shoe with a solid tread on it. Our course only has seven turns and a 180 degree clockwise turnaround so if we are all careful at those spots we should be fine. The course will be well marked with lead cyclists guiding you on the course.
See you at 2:00!
Due to the current weather conditions and the ability to get the roads in the KYHP cleared tomorrow, we have decided to postpone the race until Sunday, Feb. 9th at 2:00 pm. All race details are the same except for the date. Please stay tuned to our posts here and on Facebook about the race.
